As interior designers we’ve worked on several projects with Sieg Design. As contractors they demand perfection in everything they do. They are extremely detail oriented and no nail hole or joint goes unnoticed. We always know that Sieg Design will have our back and give us and our clients the best work possible.
I have worked with Renate of Sieg Associates since 1995 on a major project to redo a portion of an old townhouse. I was so pleased with the on time completion and quality of the work that I contracted her again in 2007 to redo another floor in the same townhouse. This one entailed structural changes necessitating an engineer in order to open up a doorway in a wall dating from 1897. This was but one of the myriad challenges we faced.
Renate once again brought her on-time efficiency and quality to the latest project. She has trusted subcontractors that perform at a very high standard without being exorbitant. Her eye for detail and design resulted in a wonderful new kitchen with unusual granite and custom paint finished cabinets to match. She is a pleasure to work.
I can heartily recommend her and plan to use her services once again on a new property soon. Every time that I have recommended her to others, the new clients have been very pleased.
Renate has built a number of projects for me over the past ten years. Everything has been to my complete satisfaction. I would not use anyone else. She got along very well with our architects, facilitating and expanding their ideas. Her work is so clean that on occasion ,we have continued to live in our Apartment while she was working. Best of all, she makes it a lot of fun.
I have worked with Renate Sieg for 4 different construction projects over the past 15 years. Ranging from a small $50,000 remodel of a NY apartment to a complete renovation of our current Upper West Side apartment which was in excess of $750,000. Our building manager said that she has rarely worked with any construction firm as respectful and mindful of other people in the building and has recommended her for other renovation projects. In all cases, she was professional, accurate, on budget, and on time. She is a joy to work with, and I would recommend her without reservation.
I would be happy to speak personal with anyone who is considering using Sieg Construction. Renate will be happy to provide my contact information.
Highest recommendation for quality, craftsmanship, expertise and delivering as promised. Renate prices the work realistically. If you want quality work, an honest estimate and a careful and responsible crew, then talk to Sieg Design and Construction.
I live in Manhattan in an 1886 brownstone. Two years ago I hired Sieg Design and Construction to totally gut and create my kitchen. This $100,000 project was the fourth and the largest home renovation project I’ve done with Sieg in the past 12 – 15 years. Projects have included: Remodeling two bathrooms, renovating a master bedroom with extensive cabinetry and a den that had water damage. Each was a gut renovation, including plumbing, wiring, windows, doors, floors, appliances, lighting, cabinetry, and beautiful molding and details. Each room still looks great today.

“One of Renate’s many strengths is her ability to communicate, not only with her clients but also with the building and neighbors. We always got clear and understandable advice from Renate on the many, many decisions we needed to make. She was incredibly proactive in letting us know what to expect, both in the long term and the short term. In brief, Renate’s work – in all respects and from start to finish – was sensational.” R.B. & K.S.
“Renate works within time and budget, and is always accessible, scrupulously honest and a consummate professional. She has a fantastic eye for design and consequently brings much more to the table than most ordinary contractors, plus her attention to detail saves both time and money. Renate works tirelessly for her clients and has more good sense and integrity than anyone I’ve ever worked with.” L.B.I.
“I was particularly impressed while traveling that Renate telephoned me to explain that the paint color I had chosen together with my decorator did not provide the exact contrast that we had anticipated. Most contractors would have painted and said nothing. This project came in at the estimated cost. The apartment was featured in House Beautiful.” A.J.C.
